What equipment do you use for your everyday photography needs? I was tempted to start a forum post for this but I thought what the hell let’s make this news worthy and find out what everyone’s using.
Camera
·Canon 350D Rebel XT in black UK Version (Hope to purchase the Canon 5D next)
·18-55mm Canon Kit lens (Needs replacing not the best lens but does the job for now)
·55-200mm Sigma (gets a lot of use plan to upgrade to a canon L series telephoto when funds permit)
·10-20mm Sigma EX (Always makes for the more interesting shots would recommend as a fair priced wide angle)
·580 EX Canon Speedlite Flash
·ST-E2 Canon Infra-red transmitter (for better auto focus and will auto fire 580 flash)
·Lowepro Orion Trekker 2 Backpack
Post Processing
·PC AMD 64 Dual Core 4800+ Processor, 3GB RAM, Running Windows XP (Tried vista had too many compatability issues and I could never switch to Mac Sorry guys)
·[software] Canon ZoomBrowser EX (For exporting pictures from camera and managing files)
·[software] Adobe Photoshop CS3 (essential program for photographers use for converting from raw and various other fixes and enhancements)
Wish list
·Canon 5D DSLR
·Canon 20-200mm F2.8 L IS USM EF Lens (To replace my Sigma 55-200)
·Canon 35mm F1.4 L USM EF Lens (For the low F stop would probably replace my kit lens)
·Pocket Wizard Kit (So I can get rid of the limitations of Infra-red)
So what are you guys shooting with? And what are your thoughts on my set up and wish list?
Canon announced yesterday the release of their latest Digital SLR the Canon EOS-1D Mark III. Aimed at sports and wildlife photographers the 1D Mark III shoots at an amazing 10fps. Since the camera was only announced yesterday there has been very little testing on the new body but with the specs that have been announced I think this is set to be the most desired camera of 2007. Its not yet confirmed if the 1D Mark III will be a Full Frame camera but hopes are high and with the expected release of other upgraded models such at the 40D this should be an exciting year for Canon
